David and I can't get enough of this sauce - it's the ultimate indulgence that will leave you wanting more. It goes well with the our Cheesecake recipe or ice cream. Yummy!
It's simple to make but take a little patience.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup Water
1 large Lemon, juiced
1/3 cup Sugar
8 oz Frozen Whole Strawberries
2 tbsp Unsalted butter
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: In a medium sauce pan, over medium-low heat, mix water, lemon juice, and sugar together until sugar has dissolved
Step 2: Add frozen strawberries. Keep a close eye on it to ensure the mix will not burn, stirring occasionally
Step 3: Once all the strawberries have broken a apart and are close to fully thawed, turn heat up to medium and continue to stir occasionally until the strawberries have brown down and the sauce reduced by 1/2
Step 4: Taking a spoon dip it into the sauce. Let cool a little, and run you finger through the sauce. If it leaves a trail it is ready to remove from heat
Step 5: This step is optional: Strain the sauce through a fine mesh sieve
Step 6: While the sauce is still warm, add butter and stir until completely melted
Step 7: Move sauce to a container, cover, and set aside to cool in the fridge at least 1 hour
