A family favorite and most often requested dish. This is David's own recipe and it is damn YUMMY with some mashed potatoes!
Yields 3-4 servings (depending on size of patties)
Equipment:
Large Frying Pan
Whisk Spatula
Ingredients:
1lb Ground Turkey or Ground Beef 1 Tbsp
Favorite Steak Seasoning
1 Packet Onion Soup Mix
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Tbsp Flour
5 Cups Chicken Broth
Step 1: Add steak seasoning and 1/3 onion soup mix to ground meat and mix thoroughly with your hands Step 2: Divide into fourths and form patties
Step 3: Wash Hands!
Step 4: Heat oil in pan just above medium.
Step 5: When oil is shimmering, add patties to pan. Cook 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove patties from pan and set aside.
Step 6: Add butter to pan and olive oil and lower heat to medium.
Step 7: Once butter has melted, sprinkle entire pan with flour.
Step 8: Add remaining onion soup mix to the pan. Using a fork or whisk, brown the flour, gently scraping the bottom of the pan.
Step 9: Deglaze - Slowly add chicken broth and bring to a simmer while
continuing to scrape the bottom pan, and gently stirring flour into the broth.
Step 10: Continue to gently whisk while scraping the bottom of the pan and ensuring there are no clumps of flour.
Step 11: Add the patties back to the pan and continue to cook on low-medium heat for 5 mins.
